Bakı-Balakən qatarı fəaliyyətini dayandırır

The Baku-Balakən passenger train service will operate only as far as the Qakh station until August 1, after which the service will be temporarily suspended, according to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reported this development, citing the railway operator. The suspension is necessary due to damage sustained by railway infrastructure in the Qakh-Balakən section, resulting from recent unstable weather conditions in the Qakh, Zaqatala, and Balakən districts. Repair crews are currently working to restore the affected infrastructure.

Passengers who have already purchased tickets for this route between August 1 and August 13 will receive a full refund. Further updates regarding the resumption of services will be provided to the public in due course.

The Baku-Balakən railway line is a vital transit corridor connecting the capital to the northwestern region of Azerbaijan. The route is frequently utilized by both residents and tourists traveling to the scenic mountainous areas of the country. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC continues to prioritize passenger safety while conducting necessary maintenance and infrastructure restoration projects across the national rail network.
