Wind speeds reach 28 m/s in Naftalan as weather intensifies

Strong north-westerly winds are currently affecting several regions of Azerbaijan, with wind speeds reaching up to 28 meters per second in Naftalan.

According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM at 4:00 PM on April 24, significant wind speeds were recorded across the country. In Goranboy, the wind reached 27 m/s, while Tartar and Barda saw speeds of 22 m/s. Other affected areas include Mingachevir, Ganja, and Agstafa at 20 m/s, Lerik at 19 m/s, Aghdam at 18 m/s, and Yardimli, Sheki, and Khizi at 15 m/s.

Azerbaijan's National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors weather patterns to provide timely warnings for the public and relevant government agencies. Strong winds in the western and central regions of Azerbaijan are often associated with seasonal atmospheric changes. Such weather conditions can impact local infrastructure and transportation, prompting authorities to advise caution in affected areas to ensure public safety.
