Sabah head coach Valdas Dambrauskas could leave the club to take charge of Turkish side Fenerbahce.
According to Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb, the Istanbul club is in active negotiations with the 49-year-old Lithuanian coach. The parties are considering a three-year contract.
Contacts between the sides have intensified, and negotiations are reportedly nearing their final stage. A contract through 2029 is currently under discussion.
If an agreement is reached, Dambrauskas will leave Sabah. Under his leadership, the Baku club reached the main stage of the Champions League for the first time in its history.
Fenerbahce became interested in the Lithuanian coach after Ismail Kartal’s departure. Kartal left the head coach position four months after his appointment.
Dambrauskas has led Sabah since 2025. Under his leadership, the team won the Azerbaijan league and the national cup, and made its debut in the Champions League’s main stage this season.
