All nine people on board a business jet were killed when it crashed in a Florida neighbourhood on Sunday, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said, according to the BBC.
The crash occurred at 12:50 EST (17:50 GMT), about nine miles (14 km) from Mar-a-Lago, US President Donald Trump’s resort in Palm Beach County.
The “Learjet 60” had departed from Austin, Texas, and was headed to the Bahamas.
Duffy called the crash a “horrific tragedy” and said the FAA was sending a team to the scene to support an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
“Please join me in praying for the families and loved ones of those we lost,” Duffy added.
