“For most of the war with Iran, U.S. troops were not actually involved in combat operations.”
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that U.S. President Donald Trump made the remarks.
He said U.S. forces had halted operations and monitored the situation after striking Iran several times.
“We are not conducting combat operations now. For most of this war, we were not actually fighting. We struck them very hard several times, then stopped and watched what happened,” Trump said.
The U.S. leader also claimed that Washington had already achieved regime change in Iran twice.
In addition, Trump reiterated the U.S. administration’s position that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons.
