Russian drone strike on Kyiv gas station kills two

Two people were killed when a Russian drone struck a gas station in Kyiv, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on his Telegram channel.

Four other people were injured in the incident and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Kyiv authorities said the number of people injured in Russian airstrikes had risen to eight. The attacks also caused a fire in a nine-story residential building.

Meanwhile, a drone attack on an Ozon logistics center in Russia’s Saratov region caused a fire. The company temporarily suspended the acceptance and delivery of new orders in the region.

Two industrial enterprises in Russia’s Perm region were also hit by Ukrainian drones, authorities said. Perm Governor Dmitry Makhonin reported that there were no casualties.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said 777 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed overnight over various regions of the country, as well as over the Black and Caspian seas.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said 30 percent of the drones to be produced under a drone agreement signed with Canada would be supplied to Ukraine.

The European Commission is again examining ways to use Russia’s frozen assets for Ukraine’s benefit. According to the Financial Times, assets belonging to Russia’s central bank worth $243 billion, or 210 billion euros, have been frozen in Europe.
