President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a paper and hygiene products plant operated by Fabriora Group LLC in the capital’s Garadagh district on September 10.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Ibrahim Uygur, founder of Fabriora Group LLC, briefed the head of state on the facility’s operations.
Officials said the plant would manufacture paper and hygiene products, including diapers, various types of napkins and cleaning products, using raw materials and supplies sourced from both the domestic market and abroad. Modern, highly automated production technologies from Germany, Italy and Türkiye will be used at the facility, which occupies an area of nearly 11 hectares.
In addition to supplying the domestic market, the products will be exported to Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Middle Eastern countries and other states. The plant is expected to provide permanent employment for 240 people.
The facility was privatized through an investment tender organized by the State Service for Property Affairs under the Ministry of Economy. The project’s total investment value is 27 million manats.
Fabriora Group LLC received a 1 million manat exemption from value-added tax and customs duties on equipment imports under an investment promotion document.
One of the key priorities of the economic policy pursued in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev is strengthening industrial potential and expanding competitive production. Industrialization has also contributed to the development of more sustainable production and supply chains in the country. Expanding local manufacturing helps meet domestic demand, reduce dependence on imports and increase access for Azerbaijani products to foreign markets.
