Biography
Mikayil Chingiz oglu Jabbarov was born in 1976. In 1992, he enrolled in the Faculty of International Law at Baku State University and graduated with honors in 1997. In 1997–1998, he studied at the McGeorge School of Law of the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, California, USA. In 2004, he received a master's degree in economics from Azerbaijan State University of Economics. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1999.
He worked in the banking sector in 1995–1999 and as a lawyer in 1999–2002. In 2002–2003, he served as adviser to the Minister of Economic Development, and in 2003–2004, he was President of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO). In 2004, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Economic Development. In 2009, he became Head of the Administration of the “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve.
In 2013, he was appointed Minister of Education, and in 2017, Minister of Taxes. On October 23, 2019, by Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was appointed Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
