Anar Adalat oglu Akhundov

He was born in 1975.

He began his career at the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange and worked at a number of commercial banks. From 1999 to 2004, he was a chief specialist, head of department and head of division at the State Committee for Securities under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; from 2004 to 2006, he was head of the Stock Market Development Department of the Baku Stock Exchange and Chairman of its Management Board; and from 2006 to 2009, he was Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Investment Company.

From 2009 to 2014, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Standard CJSC, and from 2014 to 2022, he worked as a department head at the Ministry of Education. In 2022, he was appointed a member of SOCAR’s Supervisory Board by a Presidential Order. By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 16, 2024, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Economy.

In 1996, he graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Economics with a degree in economics.
