Sporting has reached an agreement with Lyon and the French club’s head coach, Paulo Fonseca. The Mozambique-born coach is expected to take charge of the Lisbon side soon, A Bola reported.
Sporting’s current head coach, Rui Borges, will not be on the bench for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Shakhtar. He has already agreed with the club’s management to terminate his contract.
Fonseca is expected to lead Sporting for the first time on Saturday, when the Lisbon club host Moreirense in the 11th round of the Portuguese league.
