Armenia will consider switching to alternative gas supplies if Russia raises the price of its gas.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media, reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told journalists.
He said Yerevan was examining various scenarios for diversifying gas supplies, including the possibility of building a gas pipeline along the TRIPP route, also known as the Trump Route.
“If an opportunity arises to receive gas from a second, third or fourth source, we will use that option. If an opportunity arises to build a gas pipeline through TRIPP, we will use that as well. We are considering how to act under all scenarios,” Pashinyan said.
TRIPP is a proposed regional transit route whose implementation could create new opportunities for transport and energy links between Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as other countries in the region. Discussions over the route have focused on improving regional connectivity and diversifying infrastructure.
