The implementation of the “Trump Route” (TRIPP) project will mark the beginning of a new era for Armenia and its economy, while also reshaping international logistics routes.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media, reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the remarks during a panel discussion at the Concordia Summit in the United States.
“We are currently focusing on implementing the TRIPP project, which will ensure full regional connectivity. TRIPP will mark the beginning of a new era for our country and economy, primarily because we will establish a railway connection with Azerbaijan,” he said.
The prime minister also said that Yerevan was “looking forward to the opening of Armenia’s border with Türkiye and the establishment of a railway connection within that framework.”
“Overall, this [the TRIPP project] will also reshape international logistics, because the international community will gain a new route between East and West,” the Armenian prime minister emphasized.
The proposed route is being discussed in the broader context of efforts to expand transport links across the South Caucasus. Rail and road connections through the region could create additional transit options between Asia and Europe, subject to agreements among the countries involved.
