Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca has answered a question about Gianluigi Donnarumma’s place in the starting lineup. Geronimo Rulli was in goal for the League Cup round-of-16 match against Brighton. Manchester City advanced to the quarter-finals after winning 4-3 on penalties.
“Is Donnarumma’s place in goal under threat after Rulli’s performance? I don’t think so at all. Rulli is working well, but the Argentine understands his role very well, there is no doubt about that. On Saturday, Gianluigi and 10 other players will be in the starting lineup,” Maresca told the BBC.
Manchester City will face Brighton in the ninth round of the English Premier League on October 31. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 Moscow time.
