French President Emmanuel Macron met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that foreign media outlets provided information about the meeting.
“Russia’s strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure threaten to deprive millions of families of heat and electricity. France will support Ukraine in getting through the winter, while the G7 energy group will also be mobilized to support it,” he said.
The French leader said that signing an agreement on the supply of radars and missile interceptors would strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
Macron also said he had discussed the support with US President Donald Trump.
According to him, he and his US counterpart also discussed the prospects for an energy ceasefire and moratorium in the Black Sea:
“This will be a key issue in negotiations that must be resumed and lead to a just and lasting peace.”
It was also reported that Trump and Zelensky are scheduled to meet today.
