The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has announced that it launched missile strikes against the Al-Azraq airbase located in Jordan.
According to information released by the Operative Information Center-OMM via the IRGC's Telegram channel, the operation was conducted this morning by the Aerospace Force using ballistic missiles. The statement claims that the strikes targeted the airbase's runway and a maintenance hangar housing F-35 fighter jets. The IRGC alleges that the attack resulted in the destruction of three F-35 aircraft, with three additional jets sustaining significant damage.
The Iranian side stated that this operation was carried out in retaliation for recent airstrikes allegedly conducted by the United States against Qeshm Island. Tehran has further declared its intention to continue operations against US military presence in the region.
This incident marks a significant escalation in regional tensions. The Al-Azraq airbase, located in eastern Jordan, has historically served as a strategic hub for US and coalition forces conducting operations in the Middle East.
