Earthquake recorded in Azerbaijan's Shamakhi district

An earthquake has been recorded in the Shamakhi district of Azerbaijan, located 15 kilometers north of the Pirgulu seismic station.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) released details regarding the seismic event.

The tremor registered a magnitude of 3.1 at a depth of 3 kilometers. Authorities confirmed that the earthquake was not felt by the local population and caused no damage.

Shamakhi is historically known as one of the most seismically active regions in Azerbaijan. The area is frequently monitored by the Republican Seismic Survey Center, which maintains a network of stations across the country to track seismic activity and ensure public safety in the region.
