Christophe Dugarry, a member of France’s squad that won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, has shared his view on who could win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Dugarry said he would not give the award to Barcelona player Lamine Yamal. In his view, it would not be the right choice to reward a player who has not had his best season.
The former footballer said he would prefer to present the award to Harry Kane. “I am not a fan of his playing qualities. He could score 10,000 goals in a season, but he is not a player who makes me enjoy football. Even so, he surprises me in every match. I would reward him for his overall achievements,” Dugarry told RMC.
Dugarry also stressed that Yamal deserves to finish in the top three.
