Former Azerbaijan national team head coach Shahin Diniyev has shared his views on the Sabah–Qarabag match in the ninth round of the Misli Premier League.
The 60-year-old specialist described the match as one of the important fixtures in the title race. Diniyev said the winning side could gain an advantage and that neither team needed extra motivation for the game.
“This is a six-point match. Both teams prefer attacking football. I expect a tense and intriguing game that will be remembered for its goals,” Diniyev said.
He said that, based on current form, he sees Sabah one step ahead, but Qarabag’s UEFA Champions League commitments could cause fatigue. According to Diniyev, Qarabag has yet to find its playing style, while the arrival of many new players means the team will need time to adapt. However, he does not think any factor will lower the tempo of the match and said the large crowd would give the game a special atmosphere.
The Sabah–Qarabag match will kick off at 18:00 on October 25.
