Sabah’s opponent in the main phase of the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona has scored 60 goals in 15 official matches this season, its highest scoring rate in 100 years. The Catalan side achieved the feat under head coach Hans-Dieter Flick.
According to the club’s official website, Barcelona reached the 60-goal mark by scoring three unanswered goals against Aston Villa in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League. Lamine Yamal scored once and Raphinha twice.
The Catalan club last recorded a similar scoring rate 100 years ago, in the 1926-27 season. At the time, the team scored 69 goals in its first 15 official matches under coaches Jack Dombi and Roma Forns.
Barcelona beat Gràcia 10-2, Sabadell 7-0 and Terrassa 9-0 during that period.
The Sabah-Barcelona match will be played at Baku Olympic Stadium on November 25. Kickoff is at 21:45.
