Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has sent condolences to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, commander of the Pakistan Army and chief of defense forces.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the message said:
“I was deeply saddened by the news that six servicemen were killed in a clash with terrorists in Hangu district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
May Allah have mercy on those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack. I share the grief of their loved ones and extend my deepest condolences to their families.
May they rest in peace.”
Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan, has frequently been affected by militant violence. Security forces regularly conduct operations in the region against terrorist groups.
