The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, has sent a letter of condolence to the Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Asim Munir, following a fatal aviation incident.
This was reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Defense.
The letter states: "I was deeply saddened by the news of the death of two pilots as a result of the crash of a Pakistan Air Force training aircraft in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, located in the northwest of the country."
"I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in this aviation accident, share the grief of their loved ones, and extend my deepest condolences to their families. May God rest their souls," the message reads.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan maintain strong bilateral relations, particularly in the defense and military-technical sectors. The two nations frequently engage in joint military exercises and high-level official visits, underscoring a strategic partnership that has deepened significantly over the past decade, reflecting mutual support on regional and international security issues.
