Azerbaijani film 'Native Land' screened in Ashgabat

The feature film "Native Land" (Doğma torpaq) was recently screened at the "Ashgabat" Cinema in the capital of Turkmenistan.

This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.

Produced by "Narimanfilm" in 2025 with the support of the Azerbaijan Cinema Agency, the full-length feature film was directed by Ilgar Safat, who also wrote the screenplay.

The narrative follows Miranda, a journalist from London who travels to Azerbaijan to film a documentary about the Caucasus leopard. During her research, she uncovers not only the story of the elusive predator but also the complex and honorable history of the Garabagh region, including Azerbaijan's struggle against separatism. Her journey evolves into a dramatic exploration where nature, history, and human destiny intersect.

The screening was attended by prominent Turkmen scientists, cultural figures, members of the public, and students. The film was met with significant interest and positive reception from the audience.

International film screenings such as this serve as a vital cultural bridge, promoting Azerbaijani cinema and historical narratives to global audiences. By showcasing the realities of the Garabagh region through artistic mediums, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its cultural diplomacy efforts in Central Asia and beyond.
