Azerbaijan's contribution to the "OPEC+" format is highly valued globally, President Ilham Aliyev said during the opening ceremony of the XIII Global Baku Forum.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state emphasized Azerbaijan's role as a comprehensive producer and exporter of all types of energy resources. President Ilham Aliyev noted that the nation is committed to strengthening its position in the global energy market through strategic diversification.
"We plan to increase the export of gas and electricity. We will increase the number of countries importing our energy resources. Last year, their number was 12, and now it has already reached 16 countries," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
The Global Baku Forum, organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, has become a premier platform for world leaders and experts to discuss pressing geopolitical and economic issues. Azerbaijan's expanding energy diplomacy, particularly its growing role in European energy security through the Southern Gas Corridor, remains a focal point of these international discussions. By increasing its export footprint to 16 nations, Azerbaijan continues to solidify its status as a reliable strategic partner in the global energy transition.
