Azerbaijan’s futsal team will play its first match in the main round of the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers today, taking on Czechia in Group 12.
The match at the Lankaran Olympic Sports Complex will kick off at 16:00. It will be Azerbaijan’s first official international match outside Baku, in a regional city.
An Italian refereeing team will officiate the match. Chiara Perona will serve as referee, assisted by Martina Piccolo and Simone Zanfino. Imran Maharramov will be the timekeeper, Dutchman Viktor van Helvoirt the referee observer, and Belarusian Andrey Medvedev the UEFA delegate.
Azerbaijan will play its next match against Latvia on November 8. The game at the Baku Sports Palace will kick off at 20:00.
