Biography

Rafiq Musa oglu Jafarov graduated from the Faculty of Law of Odessa State University in 1989. From 1985 to 1990, he worked as a legal adviser at Construction Trust No. 7 of the Qazakh District; from 1990 to 1991, as head of the Social and Legal Department of the Qazakh District Executive Committee; and from 1991 to 1992, as a legal instructor at the Qazakh District Executive Authority.

From 1992 to 2007, he worked in military prosecutor's offices: as an intern and senior investigator at the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Qazakh Garrison; assistant to the military prosecutor of the Baku Garrison; senior investigator and investigator for especially important cases at the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Baku Garrison; and investigator, prosecutor and senior prosecutor for important cases at the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic.

From 2007 to 2011, he was a judge of the Military Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Grave Crimes, and from 2011 to 2017, a judge of the Lankaran Court for Grave Crimes. Since 2017, he has been a judge of the Shirvan Court of Appeal, and subsequently served as Chair of the Criminal Collegium of the Ganja Court of Appeal. By Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 14, 2024, he was dismissed from that position and appointed Deputy Chair of the Ganja Court of Appeal.
