Manchester United lost 4-1 away to Como in the third round of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The match was played on October 21 and kicked off at 20:45 Baku time.
The Italian club opened the scoring in the second minute through Paz. Duvikas scored in the 49th minute, Paz added another in the 57th, and Ramon struck in the 76th. Zirkzee scored Manchester United’s only goal in the 90+1st minute.
Former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney criticised the team’s players. He said they needed to take responsibility on the pitch and show respect for their teammates, coach, coaching staff and fans.
“These players are selfish; they don’t care about their teammates, coach, coaching staff or fans. They only think about their own interests. When they don’t get what they want, they behave like children, get angry and blame everyone but themselves,” Rooney told Goal. He stressed that the players needed to take responsibility on the pitch, rather than debating whether Bruno’s remarks were right.
Paris Saint-Germain are the reigning UEFA Champions League holders. The Paris club beat Arsenal 4-3 on penalties in the 2025/2026 final after the match ended 1-1 in regular time.
