US military strikes another suspected drug-smuggling vessel

US military forces struck a vessel suspected of drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea on September 9.

Three people were killed in the strike, according to the reports.

The vessel was traveling along routes in the Caribbean known to be used to transport drugs, the reports said.

“Reliable intelligence indicated that the vessel was actively involved in drug-trafficking activities. Three narcoterrorists were killed as a result of the operation,” the statement said.

According to US media reports, more than 220 people have been killed in strikes by the US military against vessels allegedly used by drug traffickers since autumn 2025.

The Caribbean Sea is a major maritime transit area, and authorities in the region and beyond have long conducted operations to intercept vessels suspected of carrying illegal drugs.
