The Ministry of Justice extradited to Azerbaijan on Nov. 6 a person wanted internationally by Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Azerbaijan and located in Germany.
According to the Ministry of Justice, Elmir Elkhan oglu Nuriyev allegedly deceived victims at various times in 2021, telling them he would renovate their apartments in order to take possession of their property. The Ministry told Operative Information Center-OMM.
He was charged with fraud involving substantial damage under Articles 178.2.2 and 178.4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was arrested.
Elmir Elkhan oglu Nuriyev was brought from Germany by officials of the Ministry of Justice’s Main Department for International Cooperation and Penitentiary Service and placed in a pre-trial detention center under a court order.
The Ministry said it continues to take necessary measures in this area.
