A suspect in the theft of items from a home he rented in Baku’s Binagadi district has been detained.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told the Operative Information Center-OMM.
The victim told police that household and clothing items worth AZN 8,000 had been stolen from the property.
Officers of the Binagadi District Police Department identified and detained 21-year-old Tofiq Guluzaда, who had previously been convicted of a drug-related crime, on suspicion of committing the offense.
The investigation found that he allegedly stole the items from the rented home and left the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
Under Azerbaijani law, a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court. The MIA conducts investigations into property crimes and submits evidence to prosecutorial authorities for further legal assessment.
