Former Manchester United player Roy Keane believes goalkeeper Senne Lammens is one of the reasons for the club’s current problems. The English side have won only two of their last 12 matches in all competitions. One of those wins came against Azerbaijani club Sabah in the Champions League, and the other against Ipswich, newcomers to the English Premier League.
“When you talk about Manchester United, the goalkeeper is costing them, isn’t he? He was very good last year,” Keane said on The Overlap podcast.
Lammens joined the English club from Antwerp in the summer of 2025. At the time, Turkey international Altay Bayındır was Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper. He is on loan at Celta this season. Lammens became the team’s first-choice goalkeeper at the start of the 2026/2027 season.
The player’s contract with Manchester United runs until the summer of 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is 35 million euros.
