Rizespor beat Erzurumspor 2-1 at home in the 11th round of the Turkish Super Lig. It was the team’s first home win of the season.
In the match at the Çaykur Didi Stadium, home striker Ali Sowe opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Erzurumspor equalized through Ibrahim Diabate in the 37th minute, and the first half ended 1-1.
Ali Sowe scored again in the second half, netting his and his team’s second goal in the 66th minute to complete his brace. Rizespor secured the 2-1 victory.
Azerbaijan national team striker Nariman Akhundzada, who plays for Erzurumspor, spent the match on the bench.
The win took Rizespor to 14 points. Erzurumspor also have 14 points as they continue their campaign in the standings.
