The reconstruction of the sidings at Baku Metro’s Hazi Aslanov station is due to be completed on October 23.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the reconstruction was carried out in three stages across an area of about 280 meters. Repair and restoration work was completed in the earlier stages, along with grouting and smoothing along the side walls and floor. Reinforcement work was also carried out on sections of the floor, walls and ceiling. The partition walls between the middle tracks were completely rebuilt.
In the final stage, the ceiling was insulated and grouted, and special coatings were applied.
Under the project, the sidings, which have a total length of nearly 1,000 meters, were built on modern reinforced-concrete foundations, while the track switches were installed on monolithic reinforced-concrete blocks. Six track switches were installed across the four-track siding.
Work to strengthen the Hazi Aslanov station siding and the station’s structural stability is being carried out under the action plan for implementing the 2025–2030 State Program.
Sidings are key infrastructure that allow trains to be stabled overnight, managed flexibly, operated at short intervals, inspected and maintained. Prolonged operation and the area’s complex hydrogeological conditions had caused groundwater to significantly affect the structural elements of the Hazi Aslanov station siding, leading to erosion on the walls.
