Baku Metro CJSC has successfully completed the next stage of major repairs and reconstruction in the tail tracks of the Hazi Aslanov station as part of a large-scale project to renew infrastructure and increase safety standards.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the joint-stock company, that preparatory work has been carried out in this multifunctional area, which ensures flexible train management, movement at short intervals, and technical maintenance. In the previous stages, temporary metal structures were installed for demolition and preparation purposes.

Renovations at Hazi Aslanov station: What work has been completed?

The major overhaul, covering a total area of nearly 280 meters, was planned in three parts, and the process has already been finalized in a section of nearly 210 meters.

As part of the work, grouting on the side walls and floors across the entire area has been finished, and preparations for applying special paint materials are currently underway. In the ceiling section, grouting has been largely completed along with insulation work. According to the plan, the covering slab will be further reinforced by being insulated with modern carbon-fiber construction materials.

The portions of the partition walls of the middle tracks falling under the first two stages of repair have been rebuilt. Currently, demolition and construction work continues in the final section.

New infrastructure and project delivery date

In addition to the aforementioned tasks, the establishment of new infrastructure has commenced. Drainage lines are currently being installed in parallel. The installation of track infrastructure and communication lines along the walls will begin in April.

According to the project, the siding tracks and switches will be reconstructed on modern reinforced concrete foundations. Power supply, communication, signaling, video surveillance, fire safety, and other vital systems will be fully modernized.

All work is planned to be completed by the end of the current year.

The Baku Metro, which first opened in 1967, serves as the primary backbone of public transportation in the capital of Azerbaijan. The Hazi Aslanov station, located on the Red and Green lines, is a critical junction point for the city's transit network. These upgrades are part of a broader state initiative to modernize Azerbaijan's transport logistics, ensuring that the metro system meets international standards for passenger capacity and operational reliability in Baku.
