President Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini on the occasion of the country's national holiday – Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the congratulatory letter states:
"Your Majesty,
On the occasion of the national holiday of the Kingdom of Eswatini – Independence Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and, through you, to your entire people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
Currently, favorable conditions have been established for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Eswatini. Your visit to Baku this May to participate in WUF13 holds a special place in the history of Azerbaijan-Eswatini relations. I recall with the fondest memories our meeting and the exchange of views we held in an atmosphere of sincerity.
I believe that we will continue to make joint efforts to strengthen friendly relations between our countries and fully utilize the potential of our cooperation in line with the interests of our peoples.
On this festive day, I wish you good health, happiness, and success in your endeavors, and peace and prosperity to your friendly people."
The Kingdom of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, gained independence from the United Kingdom on September 6, 1968. The nation maintains diplomatic relations with various countries globally, with recent efforts focusing on expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, particularly following high-level engagements such as the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku earlier this year.
