Aliyev: Azerbaijan and Türkiye are uniquely closely tied

“The 44-day Patriotic War once again demonstrated Türkiye-Azerbaijan unity.”

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks in a statement to the press with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Recalling that the historic Shusha Declaration was signed in Shusha after the war, the head of state said: “This formally elevated our relations to the level of an alliance. In fact, we have always been allies. The peoples of Türkiye and Azerbaijan are brotherly peoples, and I have said many times that there are no peoples or states in the world as closely connected as ours.”
