Azerbaijan’s People’s Artist, director and actor Aleksandr Sharovsky has died.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Sharovsky had been admitted to the Central Clinical Hospital, where he was receiving comprehensive treatment in the medical facility’s Department of Resuscitation and Intensive Care.
Sharovsky was known for his work in Azerbaijani theatre as both a director and actor. The State Russian Drama Theatre, where he served as chief director, is one of the country’s leading professional theatre institutions and has played an important role in Baku’s cultural life.
