Armenia is no longer interested in participating in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Sputnik Armenia, that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the remarks at a briefing after a government meeting. Pashinyan said Armenia’s interests in the CSTO had been exhausted completely.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in a briefing in parliament, said Yerevan saw no prospect of restoring full participation in the organization. He recalled that Armenia had frozen its participation in the CSTO some time ago.

CSTO Secretary-General Talaatbek Masadykov said the organization could consider applying Article 25 of its charter to Armenia at a summit scheduled for Nov. 11. The article provides for restrictions on voting and nominating candidates for member states that have not paid their membership fees for more than two years. Armenia announced in 2024 that it had frozen its participation in the organization and stopped paying membership fees.
