Pakistan has intensified its diplomatic efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States in an attempt to de-escalate rising regional tensions.

The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from Al Arabiya, noted that a high-ranking Pakistani official confirmed the ongoing nature of these mediation efforts. According to the official, consultations are being held to bridge the gap between the two nations and reduce existing friction. It was emphasized that diplomatic channels remain active and that efforts to soften the stance of both parties have not ceased.

Recent reports indicate that Pakistan is increasingly positioning itself as a key intermediary, launching various diplomatic initiatives to restore dialogue. This role is particularly significant as US President Donald Trump continues to shape American foreign policy in the Middle East. Islamabad has historically maintained a delicate balance in its relations with both Tehran and Washington, seeking to prevent regional instability that could impact its own national security and economic interests.

Pakistan’s involvement as a mediator is viewed by analysts as a strategic necessity to ensure peace in the region. Given its shared border with Iran and its long-standing partnership with the United States, Islamabad remains one of the few actors capable of facilitating high-level communication between the two adversaries during periods of heightened geopolitical sensitivity.
