Greek club Olympiacos is interested in signing Sabah defender Steve Solvet. The Piraeus side is preparing to move for the 30-year-old centre-back.
Olympiacos and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej have been interested in the player since January. The Greek club intends to beat its rival to the transfer.
Contract and career
Solvet’s contract with Sabah expires in summer 2027. As a result, he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with another club from January. The Baku side is seeking to extend the defender’s deal.
The 191-centimeter-tall Guadeloupean joined Sabah as a free agent from French club Martigues in summer 2025. During his career, he has also played in the systems of Strasbourg and Dijon.
Champions League appearances
Solvet has featured in both of Sabah’s UEFA Champions League main-stage matches this season. The defender has played 163 minutes in the competition.
Sabah beat Czech side Slavia 2-0 in the Champions League on October 13, then lost 2-1 to Germany’s Borussia Dortmund on October 20.
