Santos forward Neymar will be unable to play in his team’s next three Brazilian league matches. The 34-year-old will miss two games following a ruling by the Disciplinary Commission of Brazil’s Superior Court of Sports Justice, and one after exceeding the yellow-card limit, Globo reported.
The disciplinary investigation followed an incident during Santos’ 1-1 draw with Bahia in the 32nd round of the championship. At halftime, Neymar argued with opposing midfielder Rodrigo Nestor and covered his mouth with his hand as he spoke. The Brazilian was then shown a straight red card.
The Disciplinary Commission issued its ruling on October 28. Neymar will miss matches against Palmeiras on October 28, Bragantino on November 2 and Coritiba on November 18.
