Nearly 33 kilograms of drugs have been discovered in Baku’s Khazar district.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the Operative Information Center-OMM.
During the operation, 26-year-old V. Jabrayilov was detained on suspicion of acting as a drug courier. Nearly 33 kilograms of narcotic substances were found in his possession.
The investigation established that the detainee had planned to deliver the drugs to various addresses and organize their illegal distribution across the capital.
A criminal case has been opened. A court ordered the detainee to be remanded in custody.
Drug trafficking cases in Azerbaijan are investigated by law enforcement agencies under the country’s criminal legislation. Courts determine the preventive measure and any subsequent criminal liability based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
