Nanter 92 head coach Julien Mahé assessed his team’s 80-87 loss to Sabah in Baku in Group A of the Basketball Champions League.
The French coach said his players had done their best during the game and tried to step up their efforts in the final quarter to change the score. Although the gap widened at times, Sabah maintained its lead. Mahé said he was not dissatisfied with his team’s performance.
The coach noted that the Baku side was also playing amid a demanding schedule: Sabah took the court after an away game against Trabzonspor. Mahé said every game in the competition was fiercely contested and congratulated the opponents on their win. He added that his team needed to focus on its next game.
Mahé also said injuries in the squad had affected the team’s options. Nanter 92 fielded just eight players in Baku. The coach said the limited rotation was not a coaching decision, as several members of the main squad had been injured in recent games. He described the timing of the injuries as unfortunate and said he had no opportunity to field more players.
