Military and technical talks between Lebanon and Israel began on Tuesday under US mediation at the US Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida, according to diplomatic sources in Beirut, Anadolu Agency reported.
The meetings are intended to review implementation of a “framework agreement” signed in June and discuss “pilot areas” in southern Lebanon from which the Israeli army is scheduled to withdraw.
The talks are part of US efforts to monitor implementation of the agreement amid continued Israeli attacks on areas of southern Lebanon.
