Israeli forces carried out airstrikes, drone and artillery attacks, and two detonations across southern Lebanon on Monday, in what Lebanese media described as further violations of an ongoing ceasefire. Anadolu Agency reported the attacks.
The attacks struck six areas across the districts of Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun and Tyre, Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) said.
Israeli warplanes struck Wadi al-Hujair, while an Israeli quadcopter drone fired a projectile at the roof of a previously targeted building in the al-Rajm neighbourhood of Mayfadoun, the NNA reported. The outskirts of Mayfadoun also came under intermittent Israeli shelling.
In Bint Jbeil district, Israeli artillery targeted the town of Haddatha. Further east, Israeli warplanes carried out two waves of strikes near Tallouseh in Marjayoun district, while troops conducted two powerful detonations in the nearby town of Qantara. The NNA did not specify what was targeted in the detonations.
In Tyre district, Israeli artillery shelled the town of Mansouri and the surrounding valley. No casualties were immediately reported.
Israel has carried out attacks on Lebanon since March 2, killing and injuring thousands of people and displacing more than 1.5 million residents.
Lebanon and Israel signed a US-sponsored framework agreement on June 26, providing for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of Hezbollah. Israel has continued its attacks on southern Lebanon despite the agreement.
Israeli forces also continue to occupy Lebanese territory, including areas held for decades and others seized during more recent wars and military operations.
