Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich commented on the 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the eighth round of the German Bundesliga. The Munich side conceded the winning goal in the 89th minute.
In the second half, Bayern forward Harry Kane failed to convert a penalty, hitting the crossbar.
Kimmich said it was the team’s third draw and that the result was unsatisfactory, especially given the course of the second half. He said the draw did not fully reflect the match, but Borussia had fought until the end. “In the end, we have to settle for one point, even though we should have won,” Kimmich said.
The Bayern player said Kane’s missed penalty was what surprised him most. Kimmich highlighted the striker’s remarkable penalty-conversion record and said he was bound to miss one sooner or later. He expressed confidence that more important penalties lay ahead and that Kane would start scoring again. Bayern & Germany reported Kimmich’s remarks.
