Baku will host the world championships in grappling, pankration and amateur MMA from Nov. 23 to 29. According to information on the official website of United World Wrestling (UWW), competitions in all three sports will be held at the same venue.
Athletes in the U-15, U-17, U-20 and senior categories will compete in the world grappling championships. Last year, the senior world championship was held separately from the competitions for other age groups. This time, all categories will be brought together as part of one event.
The world pankration championships will feature the U-15 and U-17 age groups, while athletes in the U-20 and senior categories will compete in the amateur MMA world championships.
Ahead of the championships, UWW will also hold a refereeing seminar covering all three sports.
