“It was a very good and intense match,” Qarabag player Jali Muaddib said after his team drew 0-0 away to Sabah in the ninth round of the Misli Premier League.
The French midfielder said he thought Qarabag had been closer to victory, while acknowledging that their opponents also played well. Muaddib called Sabah a good team and said he was proud of his side’s performance. He told sport24.az he hoped Qarabag would beat them in their next meeting.
Muaddib attributed the lack of goals to both teams’ strong defending and play without the ball. He said Qarabag also concede few goals against other opponents, while Sabah defend in a similar way.
The player said he believed the title would be contested by two clubs, rather than three. In his view, one other team would challenge Qarabag for the title, while another rival would follow their pace. Muaddib said the title race would be decided by the two teams’ matches against their other opponents.
