Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that negotiations with Oman regarding the status of the strategic Strait of Hormuz have reached their final stage. The discussions are nearing completion, marking a significant development in regional maritime diplomacy.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the dialogue is strictly bilateral. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei emphasized that the status of the Strait of Hormuz will not revert to pre-conflict conditions, underscoring the shift in regional security dynamics.
"The negotiations between Iran and Oman are nearing their conclusion and have entered the final phase. These discussions are conducted solely between the two countries and do not concern third parties," Baghaei stated. Addressing rising tensions, he issued a stern warning regarding potential US involvement: "If the Americans resort to adventurism, they will receive a decisive response."
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, serving as a vital artery for global energy supplies. Approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption passes through this narrow waterway, making it a focal point for geopolitical maneuvering.
