A person wanted internationally was detained in Russia’s Amur region through Interpol channels and handed over to Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities.
The regional Interior Ministry said this, citing Interfax, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
“According to information received from Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities, the wanted person was suspected of fraud, namely misappropriating another person’s property by abusing their trust. The Azerbaijani side initiated the search to secure the suspect’s arrest and subsequent extradition,” the statement said.
The suspect, who was identified as an Azerbaijani citizen, was detained in an operation in Svobodny district.
The detainee was brought to Azerbaijan through extradition procedures and handed over to the relevant state authorities.
