Another Azerbaijani citizen wanted internationally by the Interpol National Central Bureau in Azerbaijan and located in Poland was extradited to Azerbaijan on Oct. 1.
The Ministry of Justice told the “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
Ziraddin Elchin oglu Rustamov, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was charged in 2023 under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan with fraud committed for financial gain by abusing trust and deception. He allegedly caused substantial damage to victims by making false promises at various times in order to seize their property. His whereabouts were established in the Republic of Poland, where he was arrested.
Following a request from the Prosecutor General’s Office and subsequent negotiations, an agreement was reached on the man’s extradition to Azerbaijan.
Ziraddin Elchin oglu Rustamov was brought to Azerbaijan from Warsaw by responsible officials of the Ministry of Justice’s Main Directorate for International Cooperation and the Ministry’s Penitentiary Service. In accordance with a court detention order, he was placed in the relevant pretrial detention facility.
